Billing and subscriptions

One price, two intervals, billed per workspace. No seats, no per-resolution fee, no metering of your own AI usage.

The price

$39 per month, or $390 per year — twelve months for the price of ten. That's per workspace, and it includes every operator on the team, unlimited conversations, and the AI agent — so invite everyone who answers customers rather than sharing a login.

AI tokens are billed by your provider directly, on your own key, because Doorwick never holds your provider's bill. That's why there's no per-resolution charge here: we're not paying for the resolution.

Per workspace, not per account

Each workspace is billed separately, because each one is a separate product with its own widget and inbox. Each workspace enters its own setup flow and has its own activation; the first one's subscription doesn't cover it.

The dashboard puts a banner at the top listing any workspace that isn't subscribed yet, with a button straight to its checkout, so an unpaid workspace can't quietly sit there doing nothing.

Before you subscribe: setup mode

An unsubscribed workspace can be created, secured to its website origin, installed, and analyzed before checkout. Every settings page remains visible; paid configuration writes still return to billing.

Four things are deliberately available before activation:

Your inbox
Conversations you already have stay readable and answerable.
Your export
The JSON export works regardless. We don't hold your own data hostage over a card.
Installation
Allowed origins can be corrected and a verified loader request completes installation.
Site analysis
Bounded public discovery can run and its recommendations remain reviewable.

The widget is the thing that genuinely stops: a visitor's browser gets a 402 from the handshake and the launcher never appears on your site.

Paying

Checkout runs on Stripe — card details go to Stripe and never touch Doorwick. Pick monthly or yearly on the billing page (/workspaces/:id/subscription) and you're returned to a subscribed workspace immediately after paying, without waiting on a webhook.

The same page opens the billing portal, also Stripe's, where you update the card, switch between monthly and yearly, download invoices, and cancel.

When a payment fails

A failed payment does not cut off your support channel. While Stripe retries the card, the subscription sits in past due and the widget keeps serving — you'll see a nudge on the billing page. Access ends only when Stripe gives up and the subscription goes unpaid or cancelled.

Losing the ability to talk to your customers because a card expired costs far more than the few days of service it would save, so the grace period is intentional rather than an oversight.

Cancelling

Cancel from the billing portal. The subscription is marked to end at the period you've already paid for — the billing page shows the date — and the widget keeps working until then. After that the workspace returns to preview mode: your conversations, knowledge, and settings are all still there, and subscribing again turns everything back on.

Export your conversations on the way out if you want a copy. That door stays open.
